What's That?

Then the LORD said to him, "What is that in your hand?"
"A staff," he replied.
Exodus 4:2

What’s in your hand today?

A Staff??
I can part the sea with that.

Five loaves and two fish ??
I can feed 5000 plus with that!

A Sling ??
I can defeat a giant with that!

A little Oil??
I can pay off your debts with that!

It’s not what is in your hand that is important ....

It’s who is in control of your hand that matters.

For if the willingness is there,
the gift is acceptable according to what one has,
not according to what one does not have.

2 Corinthians 8:12

Pardon Me!

But Moses said, "Pardon your servant, Lord. Please send someone else."
Exodus 4:13

This is one of my favourite verses!
I laugh every time I read it!

God has revealed himself in miraculous ways …
  • Through the burning bush not burning
  • Through the staff turned to snake
  • Through the  leprosy/no leprosy exercise
  • Through the water into blood routine
And Moses’ response is Thanks but No Thanks!!!

Some times we just don’t get it!!!

Amazingly God provides Moses with a way out …
in the form of  Aaron …
                his ventriloquist dummy! 😊

God was in it!

You intended to harm me,
but God intended it for good
to accomplish what is now being done,
            the saving of many lives.
                    Genesis 50:20

Joseph is so like Christ in many different ways …

His father’s pride and joy …
        Betrayed by his own …
            Mistreated by others
                The Great Deliverer!

All the injustices ..
All the rejection and isolation ..
All the pain and suffering ..
            All the personal heartache

Was a pathway to a greater glory and blessing …

    the saving of many lives!

Dare to be Different

God …

who set me apart from my mother's womb and called me by his grace,
            Galatians 1:15

Paul was destined to be different from others.
Only after his Damascus Road experience did he realise that this was the case.

Set Apart !
Every believer in Jesus Christ had been set apart from before the creation of the world.

                       Called to be Different
                                             By Grace Through Faith
                                                                    To Serve the Living God
                                                                                           To await His Glorious Return!

For he chose us in him before the creation of the world
to be holy and blameless in his sight.
Ephesians 1:4

Getting it Done

Serving as a soldier … competes as an athlete … the hardworking farmer … 2Timothy 2:4-6

Paul describes a Christian’s life in three metaphors.

  • A dedicated and efficient Soldier …
  • A well trained and diligent Athlete …
  • An energetic and prosperous Farmer …

If we use our God-given imagination, we could create our own metaphors to describe kingdom life.

It’s about being the best at what we do.
Living our Christian life to the full.
Maximising our usefulness to bless others.

            Living the Jesus life.
